sticking it out

Went to pay my rent today (late, because I had to wait until pay day) and the new leasing manager was kind enough not to charge me a late fee. He said he hadn't charged anyone a late fee. He then let me know that if I wanted to continue to have a month to month lease that I would have to pay an extra $100/month or I can sign a one year lease and my rent would stay the same.

As much as I don't want to resign a whole year lease, I don't really have any other options. The extra $100/month is not in my budget. He said he'd have my carpets cleaned or my apartment painted if I resigned. He also said they were getting rid of the riff raff and planned to make a lot of changes. I plan to come in with a list of things in my apartment that I'd like fixed and want worked into my lease before I resign. Next it's time to start seriously working on saving money to move. One more year in this apartment and then I'm out.

This exchange happened on Twitter between ScruffyNerdy and me:
Me: I want something cold and chocolatey.
ScruffyNerdy:*stares menacingly*
Me: What's that supposed to be about? I was talking about food.
SN: That was your cold chocolate dessert.
Me: I don't even know how to take that. *goes to make fruit smoothie*

I was so confused. We don't really flirt with each other like that (or at all really) so I wasn't sure how to take that. If this interaction had taken place in person, it would've been super awkward. He was in the car driving back from Florida with his family, so I'm gonna guess he was going a little crazy in the car.

I'm obsessed with this song and keep replaying it over and over on Spotify. And I've cried, while singing it. It's a good thing I live alone. I might be feeling a little lonely and ready to meet someone.

I've even started putting intention into the future saying things like, "Next summer I want to visit San Francisco with my honey." I mean...I mine as well put it out there so the Universe and I can work it out right?

What else? Got back into the gym this week. It felt good. Not sure I'll make it to the gym next week though with my crazy schedule. The hours are gonna be crazy, but I'm looking forward to working at GenCon. 96 hours of gaming. Let the people watching begin.

Blaire from IndyHub was kind enough to mention my 100 Quilts for 100 Kids project in her blog post about crowdfunding. We've come to a stand still with donations with about 37 days left to get the project funded. If anyone else would like to mention it on there blog, I'd appreciate the shout out.

Nothing fun planned for the weekend, just working and steady working on cleaning up my apartment. It's coming along. I've had three listings on freecycle and all three has been picked up.

How's your week been going? Any plans for the weekend?

I don't blame you for not wanting to pay the extra $100/month.

My husband has been obsessed with that song too. It's a bit weird because he's a guy but that's the song I walked down on the aisle on and I guess that song puts him in a good mood when he's in the kitchen. I'll see what I can do for your crowd sourcing thing. I'm close to broke so I'll do what I can to help!
