It's Cold Outside

It's spring and it's cold. It snowed last week too. When is the warm weather coming? When can I put away most if not all of my winter clothing? Tell me Mother Nature, tell me. You don't like me very much do you.
Spring break is over, not that I really had much of a break. I went back to work last week Thursday only to be given a three day weekend. You've gotta love that, unless you need the money or something, which I do. But I also needed the extra day to do homework that is due tonight. I'm such a procrastinator and it's all just stressing me out very much so. I don't really know what my problem is with that. I guess it's because I'm really just not digging this class or the professor. But ay, what can I do? Of course right now I should be working on my homework but I'm not, I'm blogging and when I'm done here I'm going to clean.

The state of my apartment is stressing me out a bit. It's not THAT messy, but it's messy enough to bother me. I've got magazines piling up. I've got scrapbook papers piling up. I've got all sorts of projects...you guessed it...piling up. There are days when I wish I was the type of person that could only work on one project at a time. Start and finish, but no. I'm that person who has at least 5 or 6 different things going on all at once. And as soon as I finish one I add two or three more. It's just lovely, really it is.

Other than school and work, not much else is going on. I resigned up on a "networking/dating/whatever you want to call it to make you feel better" site for a month to see who I could "meet". Like I don't have enough else going on and need yet another distraction. Actually I do. I have already met a few interesting characters. It's fun.

[Begin Rant]

If men are supposed to be so simple when it comes to feelings/emotions/etc, then why can't they say what's on their minds? Be honest. Be upfront. I'm honest with you; be honest with me. I can handle it. I might be upset at first, but I'll get over it. Faster even if you're upfront about it. Please don't string me along, I know what your "guy speak" means. I'm not gonna play that game. This isn't directed to any one man in particular, but if you're reading this and you think it applies to you...it probably does.

[End Rant]

Okay, I'm off to clean and tackle these piles that are calling to me.

It's Been Awhile

First off...I owe a chum from HS a shout out...this is for you Grayse. Happy Belated Birthday and I hope you're enjoying Germany. I will try harder next time to see you next time I'm in ATL. Me, you and Joe'l...we'll have to do something.
And now...yeah, yeah, it's been a while since I've posted. I know. I can't say that I've been REAL busy, because really I haven't...but I have been in a little bit of a funk. I don't know if it's the cold weather, school or just I don't know. I will say that I'm stressed out about one of my classes. It's a lot more than I was expecting. Not a challenge so much as how/what the teacher is grading. I get the concepts and all, but I guess my work just isn't up to her standards. It has been a while though since I've done drawing and what not. The other class on the hand I'm doing great in and I'm loving every minute of it.

I've let some things fall to the way side for a bit. Not sure what's really going on. I think I'm just a little lost at the moment. I'm sure I can easily be found. It's the darn weather I say, how is it that the weather can control how we feel. Hurry up Spring, I need a pick me up.

Have met some interesting new characters and have been doing a lot of thinking about this dating thing. I seriously don't think I'm dateable. Just about every single person I've met has never gotten past being just a friend, so needless to say I've got a large group of male type friends. Maybe that's just the way to go. Just grant one or two of them the perks...kissing, cuddling...etc. Thoughts anyone? I really don't know. This might require some more thought. I'll get back to you about it.

Can't really think about anything else that should be updated. No interesting quips or anecdotes to share either. I guess I should end this here, get some grub and start on that homework that's due tomorrow night.

Today is the Day

Chapter 2 of schooling begins. A new degree. I've already checked the assignments and such for my classes. I just have to get to reading so I can go back in and study the modules and take the quizzes. This'll be oh so much fun. Can you sense my sarcasm. LOL. But I am glad that I'm finally starting. I'm ready to learn new things and move forward...this sitting idle was starting to get to me.

I wonder how long until I start to complain about classes. Any bets?

I Got In

...well that was easy. Just received a call from the Academy of Art University and I'm ready to register for classes for the Spring semester. Apparently anyone who has the desire to go, can. Glad that was nice and easy. Now all I need to do is get in touch with my HS to get my transcript. That will be no easy task. College transcript on the other hand...easy peasy, they're right down the road. Oh and since this is my second Bachelor's degree I get to do the streamlined track and don't have to take any of the liberal arts classes like Narrative Writing and such. Strictly the Graphic Design classes and what not that are required for the degree. Woo hoo, I'll be saving some money and time.

I'm not going to register just yet because I'm waiting to see what financial aid is going to look like. Hopefully they'll help out a bit. For now I'll probably only take two classes a semester to start so that'll be $3500+. Must find out what software and such I'll need. Let's hope there's some good discounts out there. Hopefully my 3 year old computer can handle it. Might need a larger hard drive as well. Yay!!! I'm on my way...now where's that list so I can start working on some other stuff.

I Did It

I submitted my admission application for art school so that I can get a BFA in Graphic Design. I applied to the Academy of Art University, the online degree program. I'm shooting to start in the spring since today is the first day of the fall semester. I'm hoping financial aid will pull through for me so that I can afford to attend. I'm excited to get started, but nervous as well. This is a big step for me to go back to school. I just graduated and now I'm going right back. Crazy. I had also thought of applying to Savannah College of Art and Design, but it wasn't affordable for me. I'm also thinking of getting a Master's degree in Photography, but think I should get through this second Bachelor's first (one thing to mark off my list of 30 before 30).

Wish me luck/good thoughts/whatever it is you do. Oh and if you'd like to help out with tuition...I'm gladly accepting donations. On a serious note, if you have any spare change laying around or even time, please donate to the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
